I went to the doctor today because my ear is still killing me and I’ve been running a fever for several days. Turns out I have another middle ear infection…this has to be about the sixth one in six months. Boy, am I getting tired of this. Not much I can do either, since I have tried many “alternative medicine” cures for ear and sinus infections and have went the whole ENT and allergy specialist route, only to find that nothing really works. In the end, I feel like it is just my own immune system working against me.
The doctor also said that she suspects the mouth sores I was dealing with might have been related to Coxsackie Virus (or Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease). Adults don’t catch that illness nearly as often as kids do, but it can happen, and with my autoimmune issues, I guess it wouldn’t surprise me to find out I did get it.
So, I am on ANOTHER course of antibiotics. Something that depresses me to no end because I fear with all the antibiotics I have had to take lately that I may end up developing C Diff again, which caused me to be hospitalized for almost a week a few years ago. Needless to say, I am not in a good place physically or mentally and am just tired of it all. This chronic illness shit sucks.
Ugh! Sounds like youβre due some relief. I hope you find it soon. π

I thought that might be what you were wrestling with. Glad the doctor confirmed and has you on the road to recovery. I think you need some down time to just do nothing. Let your body heal. Sleep, meditate, let others fend for themselves. Block out the world and just concentrate on you. You’ll feel better and be better!! Autoimmune diseases are awful and until people realize this is so, we will never really be understood. Take care of you, my friend β€

I agree with one of your blogger friends .. some down time will help your body heal and help the antibiotics work better . I hope you can do that . Feel better keep us posted. Hugs!

Ah, feel for you, sorry you keep having them. Hopefully itβs just one of those things in life that will go away, I went though a stage of stomach pain everyday, now I virtually never have it at all. I do have a sort of chronic condition, so I can, I think, relate. It can be quite horrible at times. I really do wish you well π
And Iβm sure you will have googled or your doc tell you this advice, so I donβt want to sound patronising at all, I just hope maybe (maybe not but-) that I may be able to help possibly with a few tips π€·ββοΈ? Worth a try π I remember just after I had a middle ear infection, I changed a few things in my life, simple things like avoiding getting my ears wet (wearing a shower cap- you can even get things to protect your ears when you wash your hair), and also, a difficult thing, but manageable- trying not to scratch your ears, π and not wearing earphones or headphones π§ can help I believe π€ (I think) just keep fighting though like you are and Iβm sure things will get better π€π
Frankly I just hope you get well soon! Life can be so troublesome at times! π©π

Yeah, I definitely do everything in my power to not get my ears wet. Have for years. I don’t really wear earphones, they bother me sensory-wise anyhow. I try not to stick my fingers in my ear, although that is hard to do when they are infected or feel full and it always feels like there is something stuck in there lol, even though I know it is beyond reach anyhow. The part that always gets infected is the middle ear anyhow, not the outer ear.
