Poetry – While We Lay Together

The rhythm
of the dryer
is soothing.
As the clothing
tumbles, I hear
a high-pitched ping –
like coins
shaken
in a pocket,
and the heavy thump
of footless shoes.

  1. listening to the hum a house makes can do the same too, the familiar and anticipated don’t let us down. as Dwight said I love how you crafted this poem, and for me it creates a little cocoon of safety too.
