I Wanna Be a Puppeteer!

Lately I’ve been really into puppets (thank you TikTok), so I bought this adorable Wizard puppet (please pardon the askew glasses) and am looking into taking local classes or workshops in puppetry. It is something I’m really excited about right now. I always loved puppets, but TikTok is really breathing new life into the old artform!

Do you like puppets? Have you picked up any new quarantine hobbies?

Hi! I am an artist, author, and blogger who also happens to have Asperger’s Syndrome. I have won several awards and honors for my writings and artwork. I suffer from a few severe mental illness and chronic pain conditions (Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Fibromyalgia, CFS/ME, Ehlers Danlos, Degenerative Disc Disease, etc.), which greatly affects my life and makes me want to advocate for others going through similar things. Other interests of mine include reading, writing, drawing, watching cartoons and movies, collecting toys, hanging out with my family, and annoying my 3 cats.

  1. YES, I love puppets and this wizard’s whimsical style. How cool it is that you’re exploring this art. I’ve always found amusement in puppets. The Muppets and all of Jim Henson’s creations are near and dear to my heart. Recently, my partner met his longtime partner and collaborator Guy Gilchrist and the two became fast friends. He’s an awesome human being.
I’ve been leaning into my artistic expressions too with painting and dancing, as well as writing. I published my 2nd book of poetry and am working on the 3rd. I don’t know about you but I feel like we are all living the sentiment, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade”. I’m enjoying my free time and it looks like you are too😊
