I kind of feel in this case it might be justified if it is actually Native Americans expressing their anger at how they were treated and run off their land.
There is a fantastic education/graffiti artist and activist who posts really informative work (they are on Instagram, their handle is ndn.o) and it really makes you think about the sites and places they are highlighting.
I always feel sadness when I see graffiti maring an historical site.
