Three days straight of migraines that won’t go away. They’ll ease up a bit when I take migraine medicine, but then they come back. Sadly, my migraine medicine (Sumatriptan) is one that you aren’t supposed to take more than 4 pills a week, so I don’t know what I’m going to do if they keep coming back. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. If I’m not very active on WP, you’ll understand why.
Hi! I am an artist, author, and blogger who also happens to have Asperger’s Syndrome. I have won several awards and honors for my writings and artwork. I suffer from a few severe mental illness and chronic pain conditions (Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Fibromyalgia, CFS/ME, Ehlers Danlos, Degenerative Disc Disease, etc.), which greatly affects my life and makes me want to advocate for others going through similar things. Other interests of mine include reading, writing, drawing, watching cartoons and movies, collecting toys, hanging out with my family, and annoying my 3 cats.

Oh so sorry Maranda. Healing thoughts and prayers for you. Feel better soon my dear
Hang in there. I’ve been in a similar boat. My neck is acting up again lately also, but going back to using the ProNex has helped. You really should look into something like that also *hug*

Oh Maranda, I feel for you. I get chronic migraines as well, averaging currently 4-5 days per week, and it’s hellish. I also use Sumatriptan and I know it’s like gold dust because of the limitations to frequent use. I really do hope these back to back migraines are just getting it all out of the day so you’ll have a week or more free from them. Fingers crossed they ease up and leave you alone soon! xx
Thanks. Do you ever take more than the 4 Sumatriptan a week? I was wondering if there is real danger in doing so. I sent a message to my Dr asking, but haven’t heard back yet.
I do when I really can’t hack it, yes. I had my prescription extended to cover 16 tabs a month, which is twice what they typically allow for (max 8 p/month). It’s still not enough but honestly, migraines are so damn incapacitating that I know I can’t cope with them so regularly so if I have the tablets and it’s all getting too much, I take them. I think the main thing they say is with how they might trigger more migraines (not what I’ve found). The issue with danger seems to come with if you take too many in a, for instance, 24 hour period or with other medications like Tramadol or anti-depressants, because of the risk of serotonin syndrome, which is rare but possible if you’re taking different things together. xx
Maranda, my significant other, Robert, used to get frequent migraines that lasted for up to five days. For the last couple of years, they are very rare. He recommends a combination of B2 200mg twice a day and multiple B vitamins. Might be worth a try! Hope you’re feeling better! No more migraines! ❤ Cheryl
I just finished a four day migraine! I caved and went to the urgent care on day three (at night), which helped me pass out when I got home. Woke up day four with a worse migraine! The only thing that helped me was taking ANOTHER Cambia powder. Although, that had not helped on the other days. Sumatriptan did not work for me. Rizatriptan worked better. Try BC powder? You can get it over the counter at most drug stores, but it has acetaminophen in it, so make sure you can take it first.

I’m definitely going to talk to my doctor about it and see if I can get an extended prescription or not.

I’ve never tried the BC powder, although I know what it is. I’ll have to try it sometime.
