Sherlock once told me,
"One should keep the furniture
put away in the library
if they wish to hasten enlightenment,
or satisfy an extreme love
of solitude."
Hi! I am an artist, author, and blogger who also happens to have Asperger’s Syndrome. I have won several awards and honors for my writings and artwork. I suffer from a few severe mental illness and chronic pain conditions (Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Fibromyalgia, CFS/ME, Ehlers Danlos, Degenerative Disc Disease, etc.), which greatly affects my life and makes me want to advocate for others going through similar things. Other interests of mine include reading, writing, drawing, watching cartoons and movies, collecting toys, hanging out with my family, and annoying my 3 cats.

I wish I had my own library…quiet, dark, big comfy chair…I mean I have my family room which is usually pretty quiet and I have a big comfy chair but somehow it isn’t the same!
We have a library, but unfortunately it is rather small and is stuffed not only with bookshelves, but our treadmill, boxes of junk and extra stuff we can’t fit anywhere else, etc. I wish it was nicer and neater.
It seems like every time I clean an area or organize stuff it just gets moved somewhere else. I always ask myself if I need everything I have and I say no but what if I need it in the future.
Yeah, me too. I am always thinking about an economic crash with everything going on in the world, so I’m afraid to get rid of stuff I might need someday lol.
About 2 years ago maybe a little less, I thought I was moving. I had just lost my husband and my son was going off to college. Well, July 2019 I lost my son. I am still here in my house. I had packed and then unpacked one of the Pack-Rat containers, had an estate guy give all my husbands tools and yard equipment away at below tag sale prices, and have sold a ton myself on Facebook. Now, I go to look for something and I remember I sold it, gave it away or it disappeared with the estate guy. Most stuff who cares but there are a few things missing….my wedding dress…that one made me cry. I remember wondering if I should keep it or not and then I heard about different organizations you can donate them to and they make beautiful keepsakes…well mine is gone. Anyhow, the point is, I’m not throwing everything away this time. I will just pack it more efficiently!
Oh wow, that is so much loss in such a short time! I am so sorry you went through that. It must almost seem unreal at times as I’m sure you were in a state of shock going through it all.
Maranda, almost all my books and photos have been given away due to our allergies, but there will always be a place in my heart for public libraries. ❤ I like the idea of being in a place where you are surrounded by knowledge and everyone must be quiet! 🙂 Have a great weekend!
After I took apart some old photo albums to send photos away to be digitized, I became sensitized to the mold that grows on old paper. Old books often have darkened pages. Old photos often get a film. I had already had three years of allergy shots and am allergic to two common soil molds, among other things. I can’t garden anymore either. All of this happened after age 65, so I have had a full life. No regrets!
I understand. I tried allergy shots too and they didn’t work for me. When they did the skin prick test, I tested allergic to 25 of 27 of the things they tested me for, so it was kind of crazy.
The allergy shots had limited effectiveness for me. Some symptoms are less severe, but I am still allergic. Sorry you have so many allergies so early in life. How annoying! Take care. ❤
Excellent

That is sad. What are you allergic to in books and photos? Or is it the dust they collect?
