Vacation Cancelled :(

Today is a bummer. My husband and I were supposed to go to Buffalo, NY for spring break starting today, but I’ve got an awful ear infection and don’t feel up to going, so we had to cancel. I’m taking both antibiotic ear drops and oral antibiotics, but it is still hurting a lot. Earaches are probably one of the worst aches, up there with a bad toothache.

So now I’m bored, in pain, stuck at home, and kind of cranky too. I guess at least I have you guys to talk to lol. Thanks for listening to my little rant. Anyone got any weird, fun trivia, jokes, or funny personal stories you want to share? I could use a laugh.

  1. Maranda, feel better soon! ❤ Here is a story about when I had an earache.

As a young child, I had recurring tonsilitis and ear infections. I remember when I was about five, I had a new pink-checked suit for Easter. I also had an earache, and my mother had put gentian violet in my ears. Of course, a purple stain got on the jacket of my Easter suit! Thinking fast, my mother pinned a little "nosegay" of artificial flowers over the stain, and off we went to church!

  2. Ugh! You’re right – earaches and toothaches are the worst! I don’t have any personal funny stories that come to mind at this moment, so I’ll just share this joke with you:

A stranger was seated next to a little girl on the airplane when the stranger turned to her and said ,’Let’s talk. I’ve heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.’ The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to the stranger, ‘What would you like to talk about?’ ‘Oh, I don’t know,’ said the stranger. ‘How about nuclear power?’ and he smiles. OK, ‘ she said. ‘That could be an interesting topic.
But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff – grass – . Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?’ The stranger, visibly surprised by the little girl’s intelligence, thinks about it and says, ‘Hmmm, I have no idea.’
To which the little girl replies, ‘Do you really feel qualified to discuss nuclear power when you don’t know shit?

I hope that at least that gave you a smile!

  3. Oh dear, it is a downer when what we’ve planned to do falls through. It’s not meant to be for now at least. I hope you find something that makes your beautiful heart smile today my dear friend 😊🙏❤

  4. Feeling sorry for the cancellation. Get well soon. Perhaps its a good sign, because here in Germany they investigated a side effect of the AstraZeneca vaccine. A very small percentage of older people, especially women over 50 years of age, is said to be at risk of thrombosis in the cerebral veins. 5. 💜 Physiology is a “wierd” lil’ thing EveryOne; the same Physiological Sensation may be caused by any number of things which is why Doctors ARE Mostly ClueLess and Play Guessing Games such that Three Different Doctors will Offer Three Different Diagnoses for The Self Same Symptoms…as for “trivia” a Russian boy was born with one of his molar teeth missing; when he was a teenager they found the missing molar in his testicle when checking for cancer 😳

    …💛💚💙…
