This acrylic ACEO abstract painting really reminds me of a flag. I’m not sure if there is a country that has a flag with these three colors in this order, but if so, hey, this one’s for you guys!
As always, you can find my current art for sale on my Ebay store.
Here are a couple new abstract acrylic paintings (one 4″ x 6″ and one ACEO size). With both of these pictures I was in the mood for bright colors (obviously) and wanted to play around with lines:
As always, you can find my new art for sale on my Ebay store!
Sometimes I pick a few random colors and then make a painting or two out of them, just to see what I end up with. I did this a couple days ago and came up with two acrylic ACEO paintings that I rather like. The first, I like to call “The Pumpkin Patch”, because that is what it reminds me of:
The second painting used 3 of the same colors. I don’t actually have a name in mind for this one, it is more of a pattern piece I suppose:
By the way, I’ve noticed recently that sales of my art have gone up quite a bit! I’m not sure if that is partly due to me sharing it here on my blog, but if it is, thank you so much! You have no idea how much your support means to me! As always, the above pieces are available for sale on my Ebay store if interested!
I love the way this abstract acrylic ACEO painting turned out! It was a pure abstract, no subject in mind, but lo and behold, when I was done, I saw what I like to call “the hounds of hell” within its image. Do you see it?:
This piece is currently for sale on my Ebay store if you would like to check it out!
Having a bad day? Just want to tell the world to F-off? Let a painting say it for you:
Ironically enough, I actually wasn’t in a bad mood when I painted this small acrylic picture, I just thought it would be rather funny to combine the naive, childlike art style with a wee bit of apathetic swearing. As of right now, the original is still up for sale on my Ebay 🙂
I’m still struggling with this nasty cold I caught, so I am spending pretty much all day laying on the couch or in bed. Since it is New Year’s Eve, I am watching The Twilight Zone marathon on Syfy Channel, which has pretty much become a yearly ritual for me. I love this show and wish it was on more often.
Other than watching that all day, I don’t have much in the way of plans. I doubt I will even stay up to watch the ball drop tonight or anything like that. I’m not sure if it is just the illness or the depression, but I haven’t felt like doing anything this week and the weekend is pretty much proceeding the same way. I haven’t even been making art, which is kind of sad, especially considering all the cool new art supplies I got for Christmas. I am sharing an artwork I made right after Christmas while playing with some new acrylic pens I got. Hopefully I’ll be motivated to do more soon.
Honestly, I haven’t been feeling the whole holiday spirit thing at all this year. I’ve watched a few holiday movies and listened to some Christmas songs, but none of it really inspired me this year for some reason. Maybe I’m just too depressed. However, one thing I have been doing is playing with knives! (Palette knives that is!)
Normally I paint only with brushes, but I decided to buy a good quality palette knife and just experiment with it, so here are a couple of the abstract acrylic pictures I’m made while playing around with it:
Often when I start an abstract piece of art, I have no idea how it is going to turn out or even what I am making. This ACEO art trading card is a good example. I feel like the finished piece resembles a horse, but that wasn’t at all the intention while I was creating it. I really like it when things like this happen and from just experimenting and having fun, I create something that I like.
