I’ve been having a great time making TikToks lately lol (follow me on there, @marandarussell2). I find it is a platform where I can just be creative and have fun and not worry about gaining enough followers, advertising, trying to promote my art or writing, etc. It is great to have an outlet that is purely for entertainment and not a cause of stress. The short length of the videos makes it easier to do them when I only have a spare minute or two.
I figured I would share a couple of my recent TikTok vids here today. First, we have a creepy one:
And here is a cute one:
I’ve had a TikTok account for a while, but never shared it because I only used the account to watch other people’s TikTok videos and hadn’t posted any of my own. However, recently I decided to start making some silly videos just for fun. I’m not the best dancer, so I’ve had to be creative to come up with other ideas for vids lol.
Anyway, my account username is @marandarussell2, so if you are on TikTok, feel free to follow me there and let me know what you think of my silly videos!
Since Ohio is under a shelter in place order right now for Covid 19, we aren’t allowed to go many places. The grocery store, the pharmacy, and local parks as long as there aren’t too many people already there (and yes, park rangers are turning people away after they reach a certain limit). Anyhow, my husband and I went to a nearby park and I took a few fun pics:
My husband and I stopped by the Spirit Halloween store while we were out shopping today and decided to try on some masks. I thought I made a pretty cute sloth:
And an interesting pouty president with a fabulous hairdo:
Yesterday my husband and I visited our local art museum to see a few new exhibits they were having, including the “For America: Paintings from the National Academy of Design” collection. Here were a few of my favorite pieces, some are student art and some are from professional artists, can you tell which is which? (There are 3 student art pieces and 3 professional artworks in no particular order):
Today was a rather stressful day since I had an appointment with my lawyer for my SSDI hearing next week, so I didn’t have time to plan a full post, but I did want to participate again in the Twittering Tales picture prompt by Kat Myrman. As I explained last week, this writing challenge is to simply write a short story, or poem, or whatever you want as long as it is under 280 characters (the length of a tweet).
Here is this week’s picture prompt and my entry for this week below (photo from Pixabay):
My mother considered naming me Candy, but worried that if I turned out to be fat, it would be more ammunition for the bullies to use against me.
I didn’t turn out to be fat, but I did turn out to love candy – except for those little Valentine’s hearts.
All sugar, no substance.
A Bit of Lewis Carroll Nonsense

The serious ones

Here are a couple new ACEO artist trading card collages featuring some of the stickers I got for Christmas! Both of these were made with acrylic paint, scrapbook paper, and of course, the stickers!!! I like the fun, bright quality of both, and the cupcake one already sold, so I guess others like those qualities too!
(You can find these and more for sale on my Ebay store!)
