So this weird little critter is based on a design I made randomly in my sketch book. The finished ACEO drawing was done with alcohol markers. When I created the critter, I saw him as facing the left, but I can’t help but wonder if in the end he didn’t end up looking more like a flamingo or other big bird facing the right. Especially since the green stripes on the bottom kind of look like flamingo legs. I still like the way he turned out though. He is unique lol.

I recently created these two ACEO artworks with my Brea Reese alcohol markers. I like the way they turned out. The first one I tend to think of as an abstract mother figure:
For the second one, I created a strange, somewhat geometrical face shape. The markers left the blue lines surrounding the face, but I kind of like them since they circle around the face:
These two artworks already sold, but feel free to check out my other art for sale on my Ebay store!
Recently I found a great deal ($4!) on a package of Brea Reese alcohol markers, so I’ve been experimenting and playing around with them. My husband couldn’t believe that the markers originally retailed for over $17 for a pack of six, so I told him to never look at the price of Copic markers then!
Here are a couple ACEO artworks I made with the markers. I do like how they are a bit smoother and almost more watercolorish than regular markers, but I don’t like how much they bleed through the paper:
As always, you can find my current artworks for sale on my Ebay store!
So recently I decided that I really wanted to do an artist subscription box, both to inspire me to try new art mediums and tools and just for the sheer fun of getting a surprise in the mail each month! I received my first ArtSnacks box yesterday and here is what I got and a couple little ACEO artworks I made with the materials!
What was included this month:
A Uni-Posca Brush Tip Paint Marker
2 Marabu Graphix Aqua Watercolor Pens
A Tombow Fudenosuke Soft Tip Brush Pen
A Sakura SumoGrip Mechanical Pencil
A Cherry Lifesaver (I do love the candy!)
My favorites are the watercolor pens, the soft tip brush pen, and the SumoGrip pencil! The Uni-Posca marker is the most expensive item in the box, but I don’t find it works as well as I had hoped.
Here are a couple little ACEO art trading cards I made with the materials from the box:
