Pumpkin Patches and Patterns Abstract Paintings

Sometimes I pick a few random colors and then make a painting or two out of them, just to see what I end up with. I did this a couple days ago and came up with two acrylic ACEO paintings that I rather like. The first, I like to call “The Pumpkin Patch”, because that is what it reminds me of:

The second painting used 3 of the same colors. I don’t actually have a name in mind for this one, it is more of a pattern piece I suppose:

By the way, I’ve noticed recently that sales of my art have gone up quite a bit! I’m not sure if that is partly due to me sharing it here on my blog, but if it is, thank you so much! You have no idea how much your support means to me! As always, the above pieces are available for sale on my Ebay store if interested!

Abstract Paintings Inspired by Toys

The following two abstract gouache paintings were inspired by toys of all things. This first one was inspired by a random grouping of McDonald’s Shopkins toys (sort of like a toy still life painting):

And this second painting was inspired by a Gingerbread-themed rubber ducky I won from a claw machine at the arcade:

Both of these paintings and other artworks are currently available at my Ebay store!

Hounds of Hell Painting

I love the way this abstract acrylic ACEO painting turned out! It was a pure abstract, no subject in mind, but lo and behold, when I was done, I saw what I like to call “the hounds of hell” within its image. Do you see it?:

This piece is currently for sale on my Ebay store if you would like to check it out!

Art for Bad Mood Days

Having a bad day? Just want to tell the world to F-off? Let a painting say it for you:

Ironically enough, I actually wasn’t in a bad mood when I painted this small acrylic picture, I just thought it would be rather funny to combine the naive, childlike art style with a wee bit of apathetic swearing. As of right now, the original is still up for sale on my Ebay 🙂

Whales in My Artwork

DSC08312

I’ve done several abstract whale-themed artworks over the years because I simply love whales! Especially killer whales! I like the way this gouache ACEO painting turned out. At first I wasn’t thrilled with the almost translucent quality of the blue over the red, but over time I’ve grown to actually like the effect. This piece already sold and has found a good home, but I still wanted to share it 🙂 Hope you all have a whale of a day!

Happy Art – Pegasus and Sunshine

DSC08307

I share a lot of darker art and writing on this blog, so thought today I would share some bright, happy art! I like the way this ACEO art trading card came out, featuring a pegasus and a swirly sun. I also added a bit of pastel splatters to dress it up a bit more. Stuff like this is just pure fun to make and share 🙂 Currently up for sale on my Ebay!

Abstract Care Bear

DSC08359

This acrylic abstract ACEO painting was inspired by a stuffed, plush Care Bear toy I received for Christmas. Can anybody guess which Care Bear it was that inspired the painting? Comment below and I’ll let you know if you guess right!

Wallflowers Unite!

DSC08295.jpg

I made this mixed media collage a while back, but I still really like it. Who doesn’t love yummy hot pancakes, and I thought the honeycomb was a nice touch that mixes in nicely with the maple syrup on the pancakes. But my favorite aspects of it are the tiny spider detail and the “wallflower” label. I consider myself quite the wallflower, especially at parties and such (which I normally find a way to avoid anyhow). So, on this lazy Sunday, let us wallflowers unite! And bring us pancakes!

Mystery Abstract Painting Guessing Game

I painted this gouache painting a little while back and several people have taken guesses at what the subject of the painting is, but none of them have been right. Can you guess what inspired it? Feel free to leave a comment below and take a shot at it! I’ll reveal the correct answer in the comments when someone guesses right!
