Vacation Cancelled :(

Today is a bummer. My husband and I were supposed to go to Buffalo, NY for spring break starting today, but I’ve got an awful ear infection and don’t feel up to going, so we had to cancel. I’m taking both antibiotic ear drops and oral antibiotics, but it is still hurting a lot. Earaches are probably one of the worst aches, up there with a bad toothache.

So now I’m bored, in pain, stuck at home, and kind of cranky too. I guess at least I have you guys to talk to lol. Thanks for listening to my little rant. Anyone got any weird, fun trivia, jokes, or funny personal stories you want to share? I could use a laugh.

I Did Get to Go On My Birthday Trip!

My last blog entry was about how I wasn’t sure if I would be able to go on my birthday trip or not due to recent health issues. I did get to go and I’m so glad I did! We went to Louisville, KY to see the Jackolantern Spectacular, and it was awesome!

Normally the Spectacular is walk through, but because of covid, it has to be drive-thru this year, which sucks because there is a LONG wait to get to see it. About 1-2.5 hours on average, but it was worth the wait. It is hard to get good pics of everything when you are only driving through, but here are my fave pics from the event:

The hotel room we stayed in gave us a great view of a theme park that was shut down for the season, a bit of creepiness in its own right with the unmoving rides and the empty parking lots and walkways .

We also visited a botanical gardens park:

and even played dress-up with some vintage-style hats:

It was a great time, and much needed! But now I’m exhausted and sore lol.

Trip to Hocking Hills

I didn’t write for a few days because my husband and I went on a mini vacation to the Hocking Hills area of Ohio. It is beautiful country with tons of state parks, nature preserves, hiking trails, caves, etc. We also had some fun looking up haunted places in the area (I’m always hoping to see a ghost, but didn’t have any luck this time).

We had a great time, although there was still a lot of stuff closed in the area due to Covid. We had to eat in our car several times due to restaurant dining areas being closed. And we got kicked out of one state park that was closed (we didn’t know that of course), but the ranger was nice and just told us to get out instead of ticketing us or anything bad.

Here are a few of my fave pics from the trip:

We found this little guy in the middle of a country back road. We chased him off the road. I hope his mama came to get him soon after!

This large rat snake crossed our path on a nature trail. He wasn’t friendly lol, but we were still thrilled to see him.

This is the coolest pic from the ghost hunts. That rainbow orb is super weird. Especially since their hadn’t been any rain whatsoever that day. It didn’t show up on any other pictures. This was an old asylum turned into a museum. Sadly they were closed, so we couldn’t go inside 😦

This stain image in one of the limestone cliffs reminded me so much of Anubis. It just needed to be black lol.

Me posing at Ash Cave (the state park we got thrown out of later lol). This cave was a huge amphitheater-style structure that was so cool. In the past it was used for ancient Native American rituals and was even used as a Christian church many years ago.

A Few Favorite Photos From My Birthday Trip

My husband and I had a great time on my birthday trip, although I am exhausted and extremely sore now! It will probably take at least a week for me to recuperate physically, but it was worth it! Here are a few of my favorite photos from the trip:

I Visited a Castle Today!

My husband and I went to Loveland, Ohio today to see a real castle built by hand by one guy (allegedly by a French knight, but that turns out to be more legend it seems). Here are a few of my favorite photos from the tour. First, the castle itself:

Me, trying to look regal sitting in the throne chair, but instead doing a good giraffe impression:

Me in black and white, dancing on the top of the turret:

The cute, soft little buddy I found:

We had fun, but now I’m worn out!

Star Trek Exhibit Highlights at Indianapolis Children’s Museum

Over the weekend my husband and I visited Indianapolis to see the Star Trek exhibit at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. My husband was in heaven lol. I was there. I did find a few fun things to concentrate on though.

I annoyed my husband by sitting in the captain’s chair like this:

My personal favorite in the exhibit was this painting of Data’s cat from The Next Generation, I would hang this in my house:

My husband got assimilated and beamed up (along with a little friend):

I did get to ride the museum’s carousel (one of my favorite things to do at any museum, zoo, or park). Unfortunately, I threw my hip out climbing onto it. I think from now on I may need to sit on the little benches on the carousel like all the other old, broken down bodies:

I also got a photo op at Candyland:

Now I am back home, exhausted, sore, and will probably need a few days to recuperate.

I’m Livestreaming on YouTube

I’ve started livestreaming on my YouTube channel just for something to do and another way to connect with people. I’m doing most of the streams on my personal channel, rather than my toys and books channel. My personal channel has a lot less subs (around 200 compared to over 3,000), so if you are a YouTube watcher, please consider subbing to my channel! Here are a couple recent livestreams if you are interested:

The YouTube playback for the livestreams is a bit blurrier than normal vids, but I’m working on that! You probably want to watch them in the highest quality available to minimize blurriness.

I Froze My Butt Off at a Christmas Theme Park!

I’m feeling rough tonight, maybe because last night I went to a little Christmas-themed park and got really cold, which often tends to aggravate my CFS, Fibromyalgia, and Ehlers Danlos joint issues. I had a great time though and wanted to share a few fun pics of the night.

Here is me getting cozy with the Gingerbread Man:

Who doesn’t love a big fire pit when it’s cold out?

Here is some crazy guy climbing the giant Christmas tree (I’m guessing he wasn’t supposed to be doing that):

Is it just me, or are these trees a bit spooky?

A Genuinely Good Day! I Felt Like a Kid!

Yesterday I had a genuinely good day! My husband and I went to a little new age shop that is always fun to browse through. I love all that metaphysical “woo woo” stuff, and got some cool new candles, an awesome black skull container, and a book on aromatherapy. After that, we visited a local Native American mounds park, with a beautiful waterfall:

For lunch, we stopped at a quaint little pizza place, which sat us next to an old fireplace with ice skates hanging on it (I love little details like that!):

36696272_1807858999252849_9025620592811835392_n

After eating, we drove by an old neighborhood park near a river and decided to stop and check it out. They had really old playground equipment, like the stuff I grew up with! I couldn’t resist the temptation to play on their bouncy toys:

36739874_2016363821731300_2559832922534182912_n

Or climb to the top of the jungle gym:

36775536_2016361988398150_3773134168309891072_n

I also played on their old, flat board swingsets and a big, bouncy dinosaur that looked a lot like Barney. After playing, we took a walk along the river. I did fall at one point and woke up with a huge bruise on my thigh today. I knew I would be extremely sore today after all that activity, but it was worth it! Days like that make life worth living.
